Job Title: Lead Data Engineer

Contract Length: 6 months - Likely extension

Location: Hybrid - Thames Valley

Day Rate: £450 p/d (Inside IR35)

About the Role:

Our client is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join their team and take ownership of guiding the development program for their CDS application, which is built on Oracle. Working closely with both technical and business stakeholders to analyse requirements, architect solutions, and oversee implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse requirements and provide clear guidance to the data engineering team.
• Offer hands-on expertise in data engineering while mentoring and managing the team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders at senior technical and business levels.
• Reverse engineer existing systems to design and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain and evolve the architecture and design of the CDS application.
• Act as a part of the Technical Service Owner division, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Key Requirements:

• Strong Oracle background with proven experience in architecture, analysis, development, and leadership.
• Experience in SQL and stored procedures.
• Strong understanding of architecture and design principles.
• Ability to manage and guide teams of up to twelve engineers.
• Proactive problem solver with a track record of delivering solutions in complex environments.
