User Researcher | Public Sector | GDS | Inside IR35

SR2 is supporting a consultancy delivering a high-impact digital service for a central government client. As part of this, we’re looking for a User Researcher to join a growing multidisciplinary team.
This role will be critical in shaping user-centred design decisions through discovery and into early delivery phases. You’ll work closely with service designers, content designers, BAs, and delivery leads to ensure user needs are at the heart of everything built.

Experience Required:

• Good background in qualitative and quantitative user research techniques.
• Experience working in agile delivery teams within the public sector or on GDS-aligned projects.
• Skilled at planning and executing user research activities across service phases (especially discovery/alpha).
• Comfortable engaging with a wide range of users and stakeholders.
• Able to translate insights into clear, actionable findings that inform design and delivery.
• Familiar with projects that have involved legislative change
• Experience with GDS standards, GOV.UK design principles and service assessments is highly desirable.

This role is fully remote and is expected to run for an initial 3 months.
Start date is ASAP.
The role has been deemed inside IR35, with day rates circe £400/day.
