We are looking for an experienced Personnel Security Consultant to provide the operational and advisory steer on people safety and security for a large UK organisation with a nationally significant, geographically dispersed estate. Reporting to the Physical and People Security Integration Lead, this is the practitioner the business turns to when there is a concern about a person; e.g. an insider risk indicator, a threat to staff, an allegation requiring investigation, or a vetting risk needing a judgement call. The focus is live threat management, investigation and advice, not documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver the insider risk programme in practice: indicator identification, triage, case management, disruption and post-case learning
  • Plan, conduct and conclude people-related security investigations end to end, from evidence handling through to findings, recommendations and follow-through.
  • Lead the operational response to people security incidents, coordinating with HR, Counter Fraud, Security Division and law enforcement as required.
  • Advise the business on personnel risk, insider threat, aggression toward staff, and protection of individuals at heightened risk.
  • Deliver people security risk assessments across the estate and supply chain, converting findings into proportionate mitigations the business will adopt.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experienced people/personnel security practitioner, fluent in UK Government vetting standards.
  • Proven investigator: evidence handling and defensible findings on personnel cases.
  • Practical insider risk experience: indicators, case management, coordinated disruption.
  • Able to advise and influence at all levels, and negotiate security requirements against competing priorities.
  • Experience of physical security and risk assessment surveys, and integrated personnel/physical protocols.
  • Applied UK Government and National Technical Authority security principles.
