Performance Test Lead – Policing – NPPV

Performance Test Lead – Policing – NPPV
We’re supporting a major policing organisation on a high-profile technology transformation programme. We are looking for a Performance Test Lead to take ownership of planning, coordinating and delivering robust Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) testing across critical systems.
You’ll play a key role in safeguarding performance, scalability, and reliability standards across a complex digital estate, ensuring services meet the demands of frontline operations and public service expectations.
Due to the nature of the role, candidates will require active NPPV clearance.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the end-to-end NFR testing strategy for multiple workstreams
  • Oversee execution of tests across performance, load, scalability, resilience, and reliability
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, infrastructure, and DevOps teams
  • Identify key metrics and performance thresholds, ensuring alignment with SLAs and service expectations
  • Manage defect reporting, triage, and risk mitigation related to NFR issues
  • Provide expert insight into tools, frameworks, and continuous improvement of testing processes

Essential Experience:

  • Active NPPV clearance
  • Proven experience leading performance and non-functional testing in large, enterprise-scale programmes
  • Strong knowledge of testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or similar
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures and modern delivery pipelines (e.g. CI/CD, containerisation, microservices)
  • Ability to analyse complex systems and recommend performance improvements
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences

This is a high-impact role within a critical transformation programme, ideal for someone who brings calm, structure, and technical authority to complex, high-stakes environments.
