Day Rate: £400-450/day (Inside IR35)
Contract Length: Until end of May 2026 (extension highly likely)
Location: Remote, with occasional travel to London, Manchester, Leeds or Newcastle (~2 days/month)
Clearance Required: Active SC clearance is essential

A high-profile public sector programme is seeking multiple Junior Platform Engineers to support the development and maintenance of a secure, scalable AWS hosting platform. This role is well suited to engineers operating at SFIA Level 3, offering a valuable opportunity to work alongside senior engineers and architects in a structured delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of AWS infrastructure using Terraform
• Support CI/CD pipeline execution and deployments
• Configure and maintain cloud networking components including ALB, WAF, and Transit Gateway
• Contribute to observability tooling implementation (e.g. CloudWatch, Prometheus)
• Collaborate with the wider engineering and platform team to ensure consistent and secure deployments

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Active SC clearance (mandatory – candidates without this cannot be considered)
• Practical experience with AWS cloud services
• Working knowledge of Terraform
• Basic understanding of containerisation (e.g. ECS, Docker)
• Familiarity with core networking and cloud security concepts
• Strong communication and teamworking skills

Desirable:

• Exposure to AWS Lattice or equivalent service mesh technologies (e.g. Istio)
• Previous experience working in public sector or secure environments
