Junior AI/ML Engineer – Computer Vision & Deep Learning – SC Cleared

We are looking for a talented AI/ML Engineer to join a specialist engineering team delivering advanced computer vision and machine learning solutions for a major defence technology programme.

You’ll work alongside experienced AI researchers and senior engineers, contributing to the development, testing and deployment of sophisticated AI models in real-world environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong foundation in machine learning who wants to gain exposure to advanced AI technologies and large-scale production systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test and optimise machine learning and computer vision models.
• Support the development of deep learning solutions using Python and PyTorch.
• Assist with model training, validation, evaluation and deployment.
• Contribute to scalable ML pipelines and production-quality software.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate AI models into operational systems.
• Support testing, debugging and continuous improvement of AI applications.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Active SC clearance (client will sponsor DV)
• Practical experience developing machine learning solutions using Python.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Understanding of deep learning, neural networks and computer vision.
• Familiarity with CNNs, image processing or object detection.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including Git and testing.
• Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn from experienced engineers.

Desirable Experience

• Commercial experience working on AI/ML projects.
• Vision Transformers, image segmentation or model optimisation.
• Docker, CI/CD or cloud-based ML environments.
• Exposure to MLOps, NVIDIA GPUs or edge AI.
• Experience in defence, aerospace or security-related technology.
