They are now seeking an exceptional Group Manager to lead their Networking & Systems Integration (NSI), Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E), and Fabrication teams, a pivotal leadership role shaping technical standards, developing future leaders, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, technicians, Project Discipline Leads (PDLs), and Team Leads.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and structured performance leadership through regular feedback and development planning.
- Build a positive, inclusive, high-performance culture aligned to core organisational values.
- Strengthen leadership capability within Team Leads and PDLs, ensuring clarity of standards, accountability, and expectations.
Technical & Operational Excellence
- Act as the final technical authority for proposals across NSI, I&E, and Fabrication disciplines, ensuring feasibility, quality, and accuracy.
- Provide oversight and guidance on complex engineering decisions, supporting PLC/DCS programming, HMI/SCADA development, electrical and instrumentation design, and panel fabrication activities.
- Maintain and enhance discipline standards, best practices, and compliance with relevant industry regulations (ISA/IEC, NEC, UL 508A, NFPA 70E).
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Deployment leadership to align resources, manage workload, and drive successful project outcomes.
- Contribute to proposal development, estimating, early scoping discussions, and, where required, provide hands-on technical expertise.
- Champion quality, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution to reduce rework and elevate operational performance.
Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or related discipline).
- 10+ years engineering experience within automation, controls, electrical, instrumentation, or closely related fields.
- Demonstrated leadership experience – either through formal people management or leading technical teams and projects.
- Deep technical expertise in at least one core discipline (Networking & Systems Integration or Instrumentation & Electrical).
- Strong communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to make sound decisions in complex environments.
- A genuine passion for developing people, strengthening team capability, and building high-performing cultures.
Desirable
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensee.
- Relevant certifications such as ISA, CAP, CCST, TÜV, or equivalent.
- Experience managing Team Leads, Discipline Leads, or multidisciplinary engineering groups.
- Proven involvement in proposal development and client-facing technical discussions.
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies, quality systems, and standard work practices.
