Shift Engineer | Facilities Services | Cambridge | Competitive

Are you an experienced Shift Engineer with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems? This is your chance to join the team at a major pharmaceutical site in Cambridge, ensuring all critical building systems are maintained to the highest standards. You’ll be working in a challenging yet rewarding environment, taking responsibility for Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive work, and breakdown repairs.
As a Shift Engineer, you will:

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on all mechanical and electrical systems, including UPS, Generators, HV, PDU’s and HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot faults using graphical information and alarm data.
• Manage subcontractors, administer work approvals, and ensure their safe operation on site.
• Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with health and safety procedures.
• Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and keep up-to-date shift logs.

What We’re Looking For

• Formal training in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration Building Services at an apprentice level.
• A recognized Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH.
• Experience with maintaining tight humidity and temperature-controlled environments.
