We are looking for a Service Design & Transition Deputy Lead supports the Service Design & Transition Lead in overseeing the design, development, and successful transition of complex IT services into live operational environments. This role is critical in ensuring service readiness, operational resilience, and alignment with organisational and stakeholder needs, particularly within the public sector context.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the deputy to the Service Design & Transition Lead, providing leadership and continuity across service design and transition activities.
• Support the design and implementation of service architectures for complex systems within large-scale IT or digital transformation programmes.
• Contribute to the successful transition of new or changed technology services into live operational environments, ensuring readiness across people, processes, and technology.
• Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless service integration and delivery.
• Provide input into contractual and commercial discussions, ensuring service considerations are appropriately represented.
• Manage and collaborate with suppliers, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed service levels and contractual obligations.
• Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, translating technical concepts into clear business impacts.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in a public sector environment (policing sector experience highly desirable).
• Demonstrable experience designing service architectures for complex IT systems within large-scale programmes.
• Strong track record of supporting the transition of large-scale technology services into live operational use.
• Broad technical knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure, combined with a strong understanding of how support services impact wider business functions.

Contract Details

• Engagement Type: Outside IR35
• Day Rate: £440 – £470 per day
• Location: Hybrid working – 2 days per week on-site in London
• Security Clearance: NPPV clearance required
