AI Engineer
AI Engineer
AI Engineer – Contract
The work
A financial services client is replacing a manual regulatory reporting process with an AI-driven solution. This isn’t a proof of concept the goal is a production system running alongside the existing process, with a go-live target before year-end.
You’ll design and build the AI automation tooling, help stand up the engineering environment, and shape the pilot-to-production pathway. The team is small and moving fast.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing and building AI-driven automation for report generation
- Establishing the AI environment and supporting engineering setup
- Developing tooling that runs in parallel with the existing manual process
- Delivering a clear pilot-to-production pathway
- Contributing to a scalable approach that can be reused across similar regulatory reporting use cases
What we’re looking for
Must have:
- Hands-on AI engineering experience, you’ve built and deployed AI automation solutions in production or near-production settings, not just prototypes
- Working experience with Microsoft Copilot and/or Claude
- Experience with Power Automate
- Strong engineering fundamentals, you build practical internal tools and workflow solutions, not just notebooks
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving client environments where requirements are still forming
Strong advantage:
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Background taking pilots or POCs through to production
- Financial services or regulated environment experience
- Exposure to reporting automation, document generation, or workflow orchestration
What kind of person thrives here
This role suits someone pragmatic and delivery-focused. You’ll be joining at pace, shaping solutions with limited structure, and working directly with consultants and client stakeholders. If you need a fully defined backlog before you start, this probably isn’t the one. If you enjoy building something real from an ambiguous brief, it is.
