2nd Line Support

2nd Line IT Support Engineer – Hybrid (2-3 days a week remote) | Manchester | Up to £40,000

Are you the go-to problem solver who thrives in fast-paced tech environments?
Do you love the buzz of solving complex issues, helping people, and making technology work smarter?
If so – this is your chance to take your 2nd Line skills to the next level in a role that truly makes a difference.

I’m currently on the lookout for a 2nd line IT Support Engineer award-winning Managed Service Provider (MSP) supporting schools and businesses across Greater Manchester with innovative, meaningful IT solutions. You’ll join a passionate, growing team of tech specialists who care deeply about what they do – empowering educators and professionals with the tools they need to thrive.

This is your opportunity to work on diverse, challenging projects where no two days are the same. You’ll split your time between remote work (2–3 days a week) and client visits across Manchester, delivering top-tier support and guidance to a range of customers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver exceptional 2nd Line support across hardware, software, and networks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues — and know when to escalate.
  • Lead on-site client visits, build relationships, and spot opportunities to improve their tech.
  • Run training sessions and help users level up their IT confidence.
  • Support exciting projects including upgrades, migrations, and rollouts.
  • Help shape the future of EdTech — your work will genuinely impact how people teach, learn, and work.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a 2nd Line support role — ideally within an MSP environment.
  • Confident working across Windows OS, Active Directory, Office 365, and networking (DNS/DHCP/TCP/IP).
  • Strong understanding of virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V) and backup tools.
  • Excellent communicator – you can explain technical things clearly, run training sessions, and build strong client trust.
  • Self-starter who can hit the ground running, multitask like a pro, and bring positive energy to every challenge.
  • Knowledge of 3CX systems would be a huge plus!
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

What’s in It for You

  • Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working – 2/3 days remote each week.
  • Career progression and professional development through Microsoft-certified training.
  • Gym & tech schemes, cycle-to-work, and great team socials.
  • 24 days’ holiday bank holidays your birthday off!
  • A supportive, friendly team that values collaboration, initiative, and creativity.

This is more than a support role — it’s a chance to add real value, grow your expertise, and be part of something meaningful. If you’re the kind of engineer who loves variety, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in helping others through technology, we’d love to hear from you.
