We are supporting a consultancy delivering a large-scale digital transformation and data modernisation programme and are looking for an experienced MongoDB Architect to join the team.

The role will focus on transforming a monolithic application’s MongoDB instance into a microservices-oriented architecture within MongoDB Atlas, ensuring the design, migration, and implementation of secure, scalable, and high-performing data solutions.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the design and delivery of MongoDB solutions for microservices architectures
• Develop and execute migration strategies from monolithic systems to MongoDB Atlas
• Define and implement data ownership models, indexing, replication, and sharding strategies
• Drive performance tuning, scalability, and security best practices
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure data solutions align with architectural principles

Experience required:

• Proven expertise in MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas (provisioning, optimisation, automation)
• Strong background in data modelling, indexing, sharding, and replication
• Experience designing microservices-based data architectures
• Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Experience implementing MongoDB security and governance best practices
• Comfortable working in agile, fast-paced environments
