Role: SC-Cleared PMO Lead – Hybrid, Corsham (2–3 Days/Week)
Rate: £500–£550/Day (Inside IR35)

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PMO Lead to join our Private Cloud delivery programme. As the PMO Lead, you will play a pivotal role in setting up the Project Management Office (PMO) from scratch and developing a hybrid governance framework that integrates both waterfall and SAFe methodologies. This programme is approaching the start of the build phase for the private cloud environment, and your expertise will be crucial in ensuring its successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• PMO Setup: Establish and lead the PMO, defining its structure, processes, and tools to support the programme’s objectives.
• Governance Framework: Develop and implement a hybrid governance framework that combines waterfall and SAFe methodologies to ensure effective project management and delivery.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage with key stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure alignment with the programme’s goals.
• Reporting and Metrics: Create and maintain comprehensive reporting mechanisms to track progress, identify risks, and ensure transparency.
• Resource Management: Oversee resource allocation and capacity planning to ensure the programme is adequately staffed and resourced.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure the programme remains on track.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the PMO.
• Team Leadership: Build and lead a small but skilled team to establish and maintain control of a high priority digital programme.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in setting up and leading a PMO, preferably in Defence Digital.
• Deep understanding of Defence processes, and specifically, Defence Digital, including but not limited to, the PCR (now SPR) funding process, approvals (HMT Green Book) and the Defence Digital operating model (Service Executive Model & the role of an Enabling Organisation within the MOD).
• Strong understanding of both waterfall and SAFe methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to develop and implement governance frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., APM PMQ, MSP, PP&C, SAFe Agilist) are a plus.
