HLA Simulation Software Engineer | C | Modelling & Simulation 

Simulation Systems | High-Level Architecture | RTI | Distributed Systems 

SR2 is supporting a specialist consultancy working at the forefront of modelling, simulation, and complex systems engineering for national security and defence clients. They are urgently hiring a Simulation Software Engineer with deep experience in HLA (High-Level Architecture) to support a new phase of technical delivery.

This is an initial 3-month contract with a streamlined two-stage interview process and strong potential to extend. The successful candidate will join a small, high-performing engineering team working on secure, distributed simulation systems within a highly classified environment.

Skills / Experience:

  • Proven experience building and integrating HLA-based simulation systems
  • Strong knowledge of Run-Time Infrastructure (RTI) and federated simulation environments
  • Solid development background in C
  • Experience working within distributed, real-time systems
  • Familiarity with DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation) or other standards is a plus
  • Ability to contribute to architectural design discussions and technical decision-making
  • Experience working with secure or classified platforms is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with stakeholders

The position is Inside IR35, and the client is open to discussions around day rate and contract length depending on availability and fit.
