Overview

We’re supporting a development team that needs an experienced Technical Writer to come in at pace and elevate both technical and project documentation.

ideal for a seasoned writer who is comfortable embedding within engineering teams and can operate with minimal hand holding.

You’ll play a key role in improving existing technical documentation and helping articulate project outputs, deliverables, and outcomes in a clear, structured, and professional format.

The Role

You will:

• Augment an existing development team as their dedicated documentation specialist

• Review, iterate and improve existing technical documentation

• Work closely with engineers to clarify and refine technical content

• Produce clear, structured project documentation covering:

  • Project outcomes

  • Deliverables

  • Implementation details

  • Supporting technical context

• Ensure documentation is coherent, consistent, and suitable for internal and potentially external stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer working alongside software development teams

• Strong technical awareness – able to understand engineering conversations quickly

• Experience documenting software systems, APIs, platforms, or technical delivery projects

• Ability to hit the ground running with minimal onboarding

• Confident engaging directly with developers, architects, and technical stakeholders

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail

• Comfortable working at pace in a short-term engagement

Desirable

• Active SC Clearance (preferred but not strictly required)

• Experience working in secure, government, or regulated environments
