OUR JOURNEY
SR2 STARTED
A business inspired by a book called People Over Profit by Dale Partridge. 14 months after reading the book on holiday SR2 – Socially Responsible Recruitment was born.
SR2 BEGAN
October 23rd 2017, Chris Sheard founded the business, joined by Alicia Teagle, and Nathaniel Smith, with the ambition of building the best recruitment brand in the UK.
SR2’S FIRST PLACEMENT
November 17th 2017, CEO Chris makes the very first placement in SR2 History. We were up and running!
VOLUNTEERING
In 2018, we competed a variety of volunteering projects connected to the homelessness sector and our charity partner Caring in Bristol.
TECH MEETUPS
Our Tech Meetups and events continued to go from strength to strength across the tech community.
END OF YEAR 1
At the end of Year One, we moved into our 3rd office and our first space in Runway East, having started in the spare bedroom at home.
DONATION
We supported Changes Bristol as our charity partner for 2019 and donated an incredible £17,242 to them.
SR2 LEGENDS
In 2019, these 6 SR2 legends were flying. Over 5 years on, in 2025, they are all still in the business and still flying.
INCENTIVES
The varied incentives at SR2 kept coming. We like to mix up our incentives and love nothing more than an outdoor adventure like the WAVE.
BEST NEW AGENCY
In 2020, we won The Best New Agency at the Recruiter Awards and it’s fair to say we were buzzing about it!
MORE MEETUPS
In 2020, our meetups went up a notch or two as we hosted a 300-person meetup at the Fire Station for South West Test.
LOCKDOWN
2020 saw the start of lockdown and our young business proved to be incredibly resilient to the challenges it presented.
SR2 MERCH
We stepped up our merch game in 2020, with some new laptop stickers we have become famous for!
BCORP CERTIFIED
In 2021 SR2 became the very first Tech Recruitment company in the UK to achieve BCORP certification, paving the path for many others to follow in our industry.
RECRUITMENT MENTORS LIVE
Our CEO Chris Sheard did the Recruitment Mentors LIVE in London with Hishem Azzouz.
BEST AGENCY
At the Recruiter Awards, we won Agency of the Year (50-100 employees), and our CEO Chris won Entrepreneur of the Year.
SR2 MEDIA SUITE
In the summer of 2022, Young Bristol opened the SR2 Media Suite which remains a “pinch me” moment for the business!
BARCELONA INCENTIVE
Our summer incentive to Barcelona was an incredible trip with a big squad present.
RITA AWARD
We rounded off 2022, with our 4th award of the year, winning a RITA for Best Recruitment Company to Work For (50-99 headcount).
RECRUITER AWARDS
In 2023, we scooped the Most Sustainable Recruitment Agency at the Recruiter Awards.
SUNDAY TIMES HUNDRED 2023
In 2023, we were awarded the 34th Fastest Growing Private Company in the UK, with a CAGR of 104%. A special milestone.
KEY STRATEGIC HIRES
Sales Directors Tim Bunn, and Freddie Short, along with Maria Loria as CFO joined SR2.
SR2 CLEAN ENERGY
SR2 Clean Energy was launched, focused on the battery storage and EV market in Germany and wider Europe.
SUPER TRIP TO MIAMI
Super Trip to Miami was another one for the memory bank. A special place and a special trip!
AUSTIN, TEXAS
In 2024, we had cowboy boots on the ground in East Austin as our US adventure kicked off.
MORE DONATIONS
We gifted £31,660 to Gympanzees as part of our pledge to donate £107,000 to sponsor the reception in their incredible new Project Home appeal.
START OF YEAR 8
2025 starts and we are excited about what's ahead. 67 headcount across 4 locations, with a clear strategy and ambition to keep on improving as a business.
NEW LONDON OFFICE
On March 1st 2025, SR2 London got a huge upgrade and moved to a new incredible spot at the Ministry in Borough.
