Business Intelligence & Data Manager - Remote/London - £95,000 - Remote working, 25 days holiday + 8 days bank holiday + more

This team are a leading tech scale-up looking to further revolutionise its industry with their products. With the technical team currently at 20+ made up of developers, product managers, QA and designers which is due to expand to 35 heads+ as they integrate two teams.

This is a business-critical role whereby you will take the lead on their BI strategy, enabling data insights that drive the decision-making across the whole business. You will champion in this area and your expertise will empower them to optimise their operations, develop robust BI solutions and ensure accurate and efficient data processing. The Role

As the BI & Data Manager, you will oversee both the design, development and maintenance of their BI infrastructure - enhancing their analytics ecosystem to support key decision-making processes.

You will be the bridge between the different business units - getting underneath the skin of their data needs… driving the implementation of data solutions that meet strategic objectives. You will manage a team of data analysts - ensuring that you foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning amongst the team. In addition to this, you will implement scalable data architecture including storage and data warehousing to maintain high availability and data integrity.

As a BI & Data Manager, you will streamline analytics and data integration processes through scripting and automation of data ingestion and transformation - champion data quality and implement robust validation techniques and proactive measures to identify and rectify data inconsistencies.

You work closely with the Director of IT Risk & Governance to establish and enforce data security, governance and privacy policies and procedures. You will stay at the forefront of innovation and creativity and champion emerging trends in data engineering and analytics ensuring that the business take full advantage of contemporary practices and technologies including promoting data literacy within the business.

This is an exciting time to both join the business and also make a big impact across a growing team - as they continue to evolve and lead the charge on things - they've recently been backed by seed funding at circa £375 million.

Requirements:

  • Ideally a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data science or other
  • 6+ years experience in BI, data engineering or data analytics, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Excellent proficiency in database technologies such as SQL, Snowflake etc.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, Scala
  • Experience with ELT tooling such as Fivetran, Airbyte, dbt, etc.
  • Exceptional knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing and dimension modelling concepts
  • Familiarity with leading data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Looker data Studio and data pipeline orchestration tools e.g. Apache Airflow
  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to manage a team and drive data initiatives.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
